I have a ton of things I’ve been working and am excited to share but today I just have a quick before and after, because, ya know, it’s easy.
When we did our second Dwell with Dignity – Atlanta project, I met two highly caffeinated designers that I kinda fell in love with. These girls.
Lathem Gordon and Cate Dunning make up the design duo GordonDunning and were super fun to work with on DwD-Atlanta project. So fun, in fact, that we are still working together. These girls are super fun and have a great video series on their blog called “Please Let Us!” that is filled with classy and super fun inspiration. Is there really coffee in those mugs? Wine, maybe? Air? Who knows.
Anyway, they dropped off this bamboo dresser for one of their clients a few months ago and I’m just getting around to sharing.
The order: High gloss green.
Sherwin Williams Envy, to be exact.
I removed the hardware, took out the drawers, taped everything off excessively and jumped in the paint booth to spray her down.
Ready?
I’ve never painted anything high gloss before and this project really made me fall in love with it. The tricky thing about high gloss is that reflects every little blemish, so painting with it comes with a little extra anxiety, which I try to avoid. But this dresser was in great shape to begin with, so just a quick sand with 150 grit, followed by 220 and then a light coat of Zinsser 1-2-3 primer was all it needed.
And now it is in it’s new home somewhere in Atlanta.
For anyone wondering about the paint booth, I have a sweet DIY version coming up this week that I am totally, completely in love with.
Welp, thats it. Toldja it was gonna be quick.
SWOON! love this, dena! the color and style are amazing!
Thank you so much, Cassie!
That color. I cannot get enough!! So jealous of the new owner!
Thanks, T!
Dena! You ROCK! We are so, so lucky to get to work with your talented self! The client (and we!) adore the dresser. We can’t wait for the next project!
