Hey guys! So, yeah, it’s been two years since I last posted but this year has been a little bit of a shitstorm so I started decorating for Christmas in September. Yes, I said September. Colon Cancer took my Dad in July and I’ll admit I was pretty much drunk from July to the end of October. Somewhere in the middle there, around September, I thought “eff this quarantine, eff this sofa and these dumb Bravo reruns, I just need to escape”. So I poured another glass of whiskey, climbed in the attic, and got out the Christmas stuff.
Here’s a video of the setup shenanigans and then a little tour of Kringlville at the end.
There is also a “Say Their Names” Memorial Park that I did early on in the process… I’m in a local Facebook group for moms/dads/parents against racism (I’m only a dog-mom but it still counts), and they organized a Say Their Names Memorial in my neighborhood… literally just steps from my home. After it had been up for about 2 weeks, the FB group was advised it had to be taken down because “neighbors had complained”. These complainers are my neighbors. I’m so embarrassed and angered by this but in true Dena fashion, I shall deal with it passive-aggressively and build my own Say Their Names Memorial Park in my imaginary Christmas town and invite them over to come see it while I smile brightly in their bigot-y faces.
I finally finished the village in October and then did a very much needed No-Drink November. That was so rewarding that I think I just might quit drinking. Okay, so, that’s all I’ve got to share with ya today… there’s some sale stuff in the shop if you wanna browse that and then I also made a little holiday section. I ship orders via USPS the day after you place the order so I think it’s safe to say like, three to four days max anywhere in the US. There are also some new tea towels in the shop.

Okay, love you, stay safe and mask up. Hope you enjoyed the escape to Kringlville. Hug.

Hey, friend. I’m really sorry about your dad. <3
Thanks, buddy.
OMG! This is amazing and so inspiring! I’ve had to watch it a few times because I’m in such awe and I had to share it with family members. So much detail and all the little “stories” going on with each scene is just awesome, I could stare at that for hours. Fantastic job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much, Laurie!
Just have to tell how much i enjoyed your village and video. i never post but i had to tell you i love your work, and your ability to tell it like it is…i am 73 years old and am appalled at the bigotry, racism and stupidity of people. keep up the fun, drinking (in moderation!) and have a happy holiday season and i’m sorry for the loss of your dad.
