I recently finished a project with several incredible people to complete a stunning makeover for a deserving family. If you missed the full makeover reveal and want more info about Dwell with Dignity, you can check it out here.
One of those projects was this Craigslist bookshelf.
The interior designers, Lathem Gordon and Cate Dunning of GordonDunning Interior Design, gave me the paint as well as the wallpaper they wanted to dress lil’ baby in.
Y’all. Look at this.
I’m not a glam girl, so flashy gold isn’t really my thing, but dudes, when I opened the box of wallpaper, I gasped so hard that I choked. No joke. This stuff is so awesome! The last time I played with wallpaper I think it was the late nineties and it was blue and white with birds… and a yellow checkered border. This stuff is so thick and awesome and textural and shiny and delicious. This was made by Thibaut and was donated to Dwell with Dignity by Duralee.
Liz from Liddabits Design Shop came over and we painted the bookshelf with Benjamin Moore’s Latex High Gloss Enamel in Caribbean Blue Water. Once it was dry, I just measured and cut the paper, mod podged the bookshelf surface and pressed the wallpaper down and used an exacto knife to trim any excess.
The hardware was old and dark so I hit it with some Rustoleum Specialty Metallic – It’s the best gold spray on the market y’all.
Here it is all styled up in it’s new home.
There is a seam in there but I chose to make it go horizontally and lined it up so that a shelf would hide it.
The room it now lives in went from this:

Bonus project: That gold sparkly pillow was made using my envelope style pillow formula using some of the same fabric I used in the bedding in one of our guest rooms. The deets on the ombre art are coming soon, too!
Also, #SwapItLikeItsHot is on Monday!! Get ready to check out some flipped flea market finds!
It turned out gorgeous! Great job! The whole space looked amazing.
Thanks, Erin!! Thank YOU for doing the desk!
Fantastic shelf makeover! Thanks for sharing at Link It or Lump It this week 🙂
Thank you, Leigh Anne!
The wallpaper is absurd. Our foyer is Thibault and I LOVE it. I could see that paper in a small powder room or something! Great, great, great. xx
Thank you, Charlotte! If only I were brave enough to actually use the wallpaper as wallpaper…
