I’ve never been real big on holiday decorating, but since Hubs and I have decided to stay put for the holidays we can actually enjoy all of the Christmas decor we’ve inherited over the years, so now every room in the house looks like Santa ran up in this mug and rubbed his beard all over everything. So, when my sweet friend Bee from Windgate Lane said she wanted to put together a little Christmas blog hop full of amazing bloggers to help inspire others to get their holiday spirit on, I was in.
Our entry way isn’t much different than it normally is, I just switched out the everyday stuff with holiday versions of the same items.
Joann’s has EVERYTHING on sale right now so I picked up some garland to run down the banister, which has me saying ridiculous things like “holiday handrail”.
I also made a few holiday pillow covers to pop over our usual pillows.
I decided to keep it traditional in the entryway with a “glory to the newborn King” pillow…
I made this image and then made the pillow using Silhouette vinyl as a stencil. I also made a couple more cheekier pillows for the living room, but didn’t feel like cleaning it, so I snapped those pics in this same chair.
All of these pillow graphics are available as instant download in my Etsy Shop. Just pop the image into your Silhouette, trace it, cut it, weed it and stencil it. Super easy. Or print it and frame it, whatevs.
Aaaaand my favorite (graphic also in the shop)…
There ya go. Nothing like a coupla cuss words and a holiday handrail to get you in the mood.

Hi Dena! I just discovered you and your blog at Hometalk and wanted to say hi. I love your humor and everything about your blog. Your ‘Jesus y’all!’ page had me in tears and then I was over somewhere else rofl 2 minutes later. I’m sure my family thought I had lost the plot. I’m totally getting myself a Silhouette for Christmas, because of you! Cheers! Colleen
HEEEY Colleen!!! Thank you for the sweet words! That makes my day! I’M SO EXCITED FOR YOU! These machines are completely awesome! You can do SO MUCH with them! EEEEEEKKKK! Get ready to have your mind blown! Holler at me if you ever have any questions about it!
THOSE PILLOWS!!! Amazing!! My family can (and often does) recite every line from Christmas Vacation… we even have our own set of moose cups! Those stencils might be finding their way into gift bags soon…
