Our latest home reno.
From dirty retro dump to clean retro funk. The new hanging light is a vintage piece from a Luby’s Cafeteria somewhere. Here it is before the paint job.
Check out that tile! All those crevices. All those germ-hideouts. Someone else’s old toast crumbs… *shudder*
My husband loved the wood paneling. Good sign that it needs to go. Wink.
Used the Dawn dish soap trick on this fireplace. Muy bueno.
My very favorite room.
Whaddya think? Would you have kept the tile?
Looks great! I’m over from Before & After blog… just wanted to say you did a great job!
Thank you, Haley!!! So glad it’s over!
That is the most awesome transformation of a Kitchen so far. Love the color combo.
Thank you, Fabulosa! All of the white gives the illusion that it’s clean… kind of. 🙂
I love the kitchen redo!!! What color paint did you use? It looks to have a gray tint. I want these colors in my lake cottage 🙂 Love the curtains too. Awesome job!!
Thanks, Sheryl! The paint color is Sculptor’s Clay by Behr. The curtains are Premier Prints fabric. 🙂
Did you paint the wood paneling or replace it? If you painted it, can you tell me how you did it. Love all the rooms.
Thanks Kenya! We had it painted. We were living in a hotel when we bought the house and hired someone to do it for us so we could get outta the hotel faster. The wood paneling wasn’t stained or anything, I’m pretty sure they just painted over it without much prep work.
Daaaaaaaang. Talk about kitchen of my dreams! We’ve been “renovating” our kitchen for 6 months now and it’s driving me crazy, I just want to get it done. We’re on the last leg, we just need to get the new back splash in and some grown up furniture.
Thanks Vanessa! Redoing a kitchen is a pain while you’re doing it, but, when it’s done, it’s so worth it. Hope you share the final results of your kitchen!
I am in love with your renos! You’re amazing.
I love YOU Amanda!!! Thank you!
Your new kitchen is the Bomb!!!!! Love those curtains. Bet you sewed them yourself. Did you purchase the fabric from a store or online? Expensive? (Sure looks it.) Great, great job on the kitchen.
Thank you, Judy! I did make the curtains. I couldn’t find any that I liked and curtains are so expensive. I have no idea why. I saw this fabric in a store called Frugal Fabrics for over 14 bucks a yard! Cray. I looked it up on Fabric.com and got it for 7.45 a yard – it’s by Premier Prints – Fabric.com also does free shipping on orders over $30. I made three envelope style pillow covers, three extra long curtains panels and two smaller panels for the window over the kitchen sink – 5 curtain panels and three pillows (with extra left over) – $64 bucks WITH shipping. DIY or die!
Beautiful! Please tell us more about the art in your home!
Gorgeous Dena! Great job! You are very talented!
Thank you Kathy! 🙂
Dena is the man. She knows her sharts!
Glad I do not know YOUR sharts, Scooter.
