Omg. I fell in love with these the second I saw them at McKinney Trade Days. I had to have them, even though we had just finished remodeling our home in Texas, I just KNEW I need some hanging lights that once hung in a Luby’s Cafeteria.
I mean, right?
You woulda bought them, too… Look at that retro charm!
They’re made of ceramic and pretty heavy.
I got ’em home, let the hound dog check ’em out, disassembled them then blasted ’em with some spray paint. Rustoleum Painter’s Touch 2x Ultra Cover in Gloss White. It’s like ketchup, good on everything.
Easy peasy. I had tried selling these with no luck.
Someone asked if they were ashtrays.
Huh?
I hung on to them hoping I could find a buyer but instead ended up using one of them in our kitchen in our new house. A good case for the woman who keeps everything.
Hang on to it, ya might it need it … one day.
I just love the way the light twinkles through these little holes.
…aaaand here’s one of ’em in the kitchen!
The down rod for the other one broke in the move to Georgia. Sad story.
I still have the globe part and am hoping to turn it into something awesome. Ideas?

Have you ever spray painted a light fixture?
Are you as paranoid as I am about that ish catchin’ on fire?!
It was so great meeting you at ADAC the other day. I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!
Thank you Kelley! Great to meet you as well! Excited to be involved in DWD!
